Our automated promotions are triggered based on specific loyalty member lifecycle events. They run continuously in the background and require minimal maintenance once they are set; the idea is to set them and forget them! Our system will manage it all behind the scenes.
Businesses who see the most success activate these offers with enticing rewards. They are a great low effort way to keep you loyalty members engaged.
Lights Out offers have 3 parts:
A trigger
An offer (Optional)
An email / SMS communication
From the DataCandy Backoffice, you are able to choose and configure which triggers you wish to activate. The communication is sent automatically, and members become eligible for the configured offer as soon as they receive it! Alternatively, you may decide to send a message only, without an offer attached.

Available Offers
You have the option to offer bonus points or free item rewards to your members, for the applicable triggers. Members also have a limited time to meet the desired behaviour, or else the offer expires and they are no longer able to receive it.
Bonus points: Once the communication is received, members must do a transaction, within the number of days allotted, to earn the bonus points. Once earned, the points are loaded on the loyalty card and can be used at anytime.
Free item rewards: Once the communication is received, the free item reward is pre-loaded on the member's card. Once earned, the reward must be redeemed within the number of days allotted or it will expire.
Clarification:
Free item rewards are only available on on our DC PRO package, and specific terminal/POS integrations. If you wish to use these options, but they are not visible in the DataCandy Backoffice, please reach out to your DataCandy contact to find out if they are the right match for you.
Communications
When you are configuring your Lights Out, you can fully personnalise the message that will be sent to your members. This can be sent as an email or an SMS (if applicable).
Clarification:
Only members that have given their communication consent may receive these messages. Consent is usually collected during the registration flow OR can be updated through the DataCandy member portal.
The language of the email template and the emails sent is determined by a client setting and your member's preffered language. If your language preferences are not as desired, contact your DataCandy representative.
The sytem will send an email OR an SMS text OR both, depending on the member's communication preference. SMS messaging requires our SMS add on; if you wish to add this feature, contact your DataCandy representative.
Within the message editor, you are able to:
Edit the text in its entirety and insert a header, footer or any image by placing the cursor where you want it to be, and importing an image in .jpeg, .jpg or .png format.
The header/footer should be approx 940 px wide x 164 px high; if you want larger/higher it can be tested during the configuration of the email.
There is little restriction to the image size; it is up to you to decide according to the layout of your text/email and the size of your header/footer.
The available variables pull the information from the member's profile; only the variable listed within the editor are available.
